FINAL EDIT- WEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW ITS DONE!!!!! Had a lot of fun on this, but at the same time i screwed up SO much XD I mean look at those sorry excuses for sun rays XD but oh well, learn from you mistakes right? I'm still very happy with this, that's all that matters. Enjoy! hoot hoot xD
EDIT 5- Lots of progress today! Getting close to being done on the owl, and then It's on to the fence!
EDIT 4- continuing the detailing process, everything is blocked in now Thought I'd show the work space in this pic as well in case anyone was curious XD pretty messy XD And I know the painting doesn't look exactly like the reference picture on the left (which i put together myself using wallpapers), namely the background, but it's a learning process, I am for sure not an expert, this is only my fourth real acrylic piece ever so I still have a ways to go XD began detailing the bottom feathers and foot. I'm contemplating whether or not to add in something the bird is looking at, like a butterfly or a bubble or something, not sure if that's a good Idea but I will experiment with it in photoshop to see what looks good (download for better view of everything)
EDIT 3- so here I've started the detailing of the owl, as you can see I tend to work on one area at a time finishing small areas as I go, no matter how hard I try I can't jump around and complete it as one XD Anyways things are looking better!! I'm definitely starting to like it much more, I realized this morning that the owl's face was lloking creepily human like in shape so I fixed that right away XD
EDIT 2- so here's another day's work, finished the background for the most part and blocked in the main subject Can you guess what kind of owl it is?
again, crappy camera quality, when this thing's done I'll get a nice natural light photo with an actual camera. So tomorrow I will begin the basic
detailing on the owl, as well as tweak the background a bit more
EDIT 1- So this looks really crappy atm, had a lot of troubles with insects in the house(I am terrified of insects) and brushes that never dry and what not \
-_- this is a really ugly stage in the painting, which is a personal painting I decided to do for fun, so far it is the largest acrylic I've ever done, but it won't be for long *glances at massive canvas in the corner* you all know backgrounds aren't my expertise, and that's precisely why this isn't turning out at all how I planned -_- but this is JUST a background, once the background is complete I will draw on the actual subject, a subject I personally have NEVER drawn or painting before, but have recently formed a love for them (It's an animal ) soo tomorrows goal is to finish this background, make it look somewhat decent, and maybe even start drawing the actual subject in there.
